Nigeria’s national team coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled his squads for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, as well as a high-profile friendly against Russia.

The squad for the September qualifiers is headlined by African Footballer of the Year contender Victor Osimhen, alongside Premier League stars Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and midfield stalwart Wilfred Ndidi.

Notable returns include versatile defender Ola Aina, back after a brief absence, and Benjamin Fredricks, who makes a comeback following injury rehabilitation.

Rising talents George Ilenikhena and debutant Moses Usor, the LASK forward, have been rewarded for their impressive club form with national team call-ups.

For the October clash with Russia, Chelle has opted for a blend of experience and youth, mixing established names such as Kelechi Iheanacho and Stanley Nwabali with several emerging prospects.
