Charly Boy

Renowned entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, famously called Charly Boy, has launched a scathing attack on Nigerian religious leaders, claiming nearly all prioritize financial gain over moral leadership.

During a fiery appearance on the KAA Truths podcast, the outspoken artist condemned clergymen for their deafening silence amid Nigeria’s worsening economic hardship and security crises.

He alleged that many pastors collaborate with corrupt government officials to manipulate and oppress ordinary citizens.

Charly Boy stressed that while he resides in Nigeria, his mindset sharply contrasts with what he perceives as the gullibility of most Nigerians, refusing to be swayed by what he calls the hypocrisy of religious figures.

“Nearly every pastor in Nigeria is ineffective—their churches are nothing but profit-driven enterprises,” he declared.

“I may physically be in Nigeria, but mentally, I’m worlds apart. My beliefs don’t align with the masses. I refuse to conform to the same flawed thinking,” he added.
