New tension flared online when Yhemolee, a prominent nightlife figure, clashed with food critic Opeyemi Famakin over an unfavorable review of his wife’s perfume line. The exchange quickly escalated into a public spat.
Yhemolee fired back in a fiery response, alleging that Opeyemi’s review was disingenuous. He accused the critic of masking dislike behind hollow praise, then undermining the fragrance with what he called condescending remarks.
The influencer called out what he saw as hypocrisy, asking how someone could claim admiration for him while disparaging his family’s business venture. “If you truly support me, why attack what’s mine?” he demanded.
Defending the brand’s success, Yhemolee revealed impressive sales figures—two complete sellouts and more than 1,000 bottles moved. Ironically, he noted, the scent Opeyemi panned is currently their top performer.
He dropped another bombshell: the brand’s team had allegedly approached Opeyemi for a paid promotion, but the critic reportedly asked for a staggering ₦6 million fee. Yhemolee insinuated the negative assessment was payback for being excluded.
Asserting that genuine feedback should be given privately, especially when names are involved, Yhemolee concluded the ordeal helped him spot “fake allies.” The drama continued with a series of screenshots documenting the online argument.
