Renowned Nollywood actor Prince Eke has voiced strong disapproval of Nigerian celebrities, asserting they are unworthy of shaping public opinion.
In a candid Instagram post, Eke accused many entertainers of remaining silent on Nigeria’s governance failures, alleging they eagerly await political handouts in exchange for endorsements.
The actor argued that instead of advocating for industry reforms—such as royalty structures for long-term earnings—celebrities align themselves with politicians responsible for the nation’s decline.
Prince Eke emphasized that financial desperation drives many public figures to compromise their principles for monetary rewards.
He stated, “Recognizing that most so-called celebrities lack credibility is crucial. Despite witnessing systemic corruption, actors and musicians stay mute, anticipating crumbs from political campaigns.”
“A functional system would ensure ongoing royalties from past projects, yet they choose complicity with those undermining Nigeria’s progress.”
“Their alliances with oppressors shouldn’t surprise anyone. Financial struggles often outweigh moral convictions—after all, principles don’t put food on the table.”
