Prominent Nigerian celebrities have spoken out against the escalating security crisis plaguing the nation.
Renowned musician Paul Okoye, part of the legendary duo P-Square, shared his frustration following the Palm Sunday attack on Christians in Jos, Plateau State, his birthplace. He questioned the collective outrage over the country’s insecurity.
Taking to X, he posted, “When will we truly rise in anger? Maybe only divine intervention can spark the change we need.”
Meanwhile, comedian and activist Mr Macaroni didn’t hold back, slamming President Bola Tinubu’s administration for what he called “gross negligence and incompetence.”
In a fiery post, he declared, “This administration tops the list of Nigeria’s most ineffective governments. Every day, citizens wake up to a new tragedy, yet those in power remain silent.”
Further criticizing the government’s response, Mr Macaroni questioned why the President had yet to address the nation after the deadly terrorist attack in Jos, which claimed over 40 lives.
“This government lacks accountability—zero responsibility, zero action,” he added.
In a bold move, actor Kunle Remi suggested Nigerians incorporate images of suffering and insecurity in their birthday wishes to President Tinubu, who recently celebrated his 74th birthday.
In a viral video, Remi stated, “Instead of celebratory posts, let’s show the truth. Share the video of that grieving woman. Feature the devastation in Plateau. That’s the reality we should highlight while wishing the President well.”
“Happy birthday, Mr. President,” he concluded sarcastically.

“Let’s use the image of mourning, not celebration. The cries from Plateau should shape our birthday messages to the President.”
