Tragedy struck in Aba as two close friends lost their lives in a fatal car crash.
The victims, identified as Junior Clifford and Mbika, were pronounced dead after their Toyota Camry skidded off the road and plunged into a water-filled ditch near the Osisioma flyover in Abia State.
Reports indicate the pair remained trapped inside the submerged vehicle, leading to their untimely demise before emergency responders could reach them.
Authorities continue searching for a third passenger, believed to be female, whose body has not yet been recovered.
Ngozi Ezeoma, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Abia State, confirmed the accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, October 28, around 1:00 am.
Ezeoma stated FRSC personnel successfully retrieved the bodies of both male victims from the wreckage.
“The deceased have been transferred to the mortuary. Our team used specialized equipment to recover the Toyota Camry from the ditch. Initial findings suggest speeding caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle,” she explained.
