Before joining Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen was the subject of intense transfer interest from top English clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has hailed Victor Osimhen as a “lethal” forward, admitting he’s glad the Napoli star didn’t secure a transfer to the Premier League.

The Nigerian international likened Osimhen’s prowess to that of Manchester City’s prolific scorer, Erling Haaland.

Despite strong interest from England’s elite clubs, Osimhen ultimately chose Galatasaray—a decision Bassey, his Super Eagles teammate, views with mixed emotions.

Bassey, who faced stiff competition in the Premier League with Fulham, acknowledged the striker’s threat upfront.

“He’s just exceptional. His contributions for Nigeria and in the Champions League speak for themselves—an absolutely ruthless finisher,” Bassey told Stadium Astro.

“Part of me is glad he didn’t move to England because facing him would be a nightmare.

“At the same time, I know he would’ve thrived in the Premier League—it’s a testament to his quality.”

Bassey also confirmed Osimhen remains keen on a future Premier League switch.
