WAFCON 2026 Postponement

African football’s governing body, CAF, has officially delayed the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

In a statement released Thursday, the Confederation of African Football confirmed the schedule adjustment through its digital platforms.

The continental women’s championship, originally planned to run from March 17 to April 3, 2026, in Morocco, will now take place later in the year.

The revised tournament dates fall between July 25 and August 16, creating a five-month shift from the initial calendar.

CAF officials cited logistical challenges and operational considerations behind the rescheduling, emphasizing their commitment to delivering an exceptional event.

Defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons claimed victory in the previous edition held in Morocco during 2022.
