Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has made history with his ‘I Told Them’ tour, securing its place as the highest-grossing tour by an African musician.

Data from a leading tour analytics platform reveals that the tour generated a staggering $30.5 million in revenue, with over 302,000 tickets sold during 22 electrifying performances in major cities across Europe and North America.

“Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them… Tour’ has officially set a new benchmark, becoming the highest-earning Afrobeat tour ever, pulling in $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold,” the platform announced.

Adding to his historic achievements, Burna Boy also set a new record for the highest-grossing single concert by an African artist, earning $6.147 million from 58,973 fans at London Stadium on June 29, 2024.

The North American leg of the tour contributed $15.19 million from 152,378 tickets across 16 shows, while the European segment brought in $15.27 million from 150,423 attendees over six performances.

While Burna Boy dominates the Afrobeat scene, Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour remains the highest-grossing tour in music history, generating an unprecedented $2 billion from 149 shows spanning 21 months—surpassing Elton John’s previous record.
