Burna Boy

Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), revealed that award-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy faced unexpected delays upon arriving at a Moroccan airport on his way to perform at the TotalEnergies AFCON Fan Zone concert in Rabat.

During a press briefing, Motsepe shared that customs authorities detained the internationally acclaimed musician due to an issue concerning his lavish gold accessories. The CAF president personally stepped in to mediate the situation.

“I received a call requesting my intervention after Burna Boy was held at customs over concerns about his exquisite gold jewellery. Fortunately, we resolved the matter swiftly,” Motsepe stated.

The “African Giant” crooner headlined the TotalEnergies AFCON Fan Zone event in Rabat on January 16, delivering an electrifying performance alongside Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy and Moroccan artists Stormy and Jaylann.
