With five nods apiece, Burna Boy (“No Sign of Weakness”) and Davido (“5ive”) dominate categories including Album of the Year and Best Collaboration, setting the stage for an epic showdown.
Shallipopi emerges as a breakout contender with four nominations, earning recognition for Artiste of the Year and his chart-topping collab “Laho”.
The competition heats up with Ayra Starr grabbing two nominations, facing industry heavyweights like Moroccan rap sensation El Grande Toto in the Artiste of the Year category.
Pan-African talent shines through with DJ Maphorisa (South Africa), El Grande Toto (Morocco), Mia Guissé (Senegal), and Moliy (Ghana) all earning an impressive five nominations each.
Regional stars Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Tyla (South Africa), and Uncle Waffles (Eswatini) secure four nominations, showcasing Africa’s diverse musical landscape.
Lagos will transform into a musical Mecca from November 25-30, hosting the AFRIMA Music Village, industry summits, and culminating in a spectacular televised finale reaching 84+ countries.
AFRIMA juror Delani Makhalima remarked, “African music now commands global stages. These nominations celebrate our cultural ascendancy through the continent’s finest talents.”
