Renowned comedian and actor Bovi Ugboma has openly voiced his support for divorce, stating that he views it as a positive step for couples stuck in unfulfilling marriages. According to him, ending a toxic union can be liberating for both partners.
During a candid conversation on The Morayo Show, Bovi emphasized that staying in a stifling marriage does more harm than good. “I applaud divorce because it signifies that one or both individuals were suffocating in that relationship. Nobody should endure misery, nor should they impose it on their partner,” he remarked.
While advocating for divorce in certain situations, Bovi acknowledged that marriage is far from easy. He shared insights from his own 17-year journey, admitting that his relationship has faced its share of struggles. “Marriage isn’t a walk in the park. I tied the knot at 29 and have been the sole provider for nearly two decades without a break,” he revealed.
The entertainer also addressed societal expectations surrounding gender roles, noting that while men are traditionally seen as breadwinners, women should be encouraged to chase their dreams and achieve financial autonomy. “When a woman chooses to contribute financially out of passion, her efforts should be valued, not dismissed,” he added.
