Nigerian forward Victor Boniface, who currently plays in Germany, has expressed concerns over the attitude of some Super Eagles players toward representing the national team, stating that they appear indifferent to match outcomes.
The striker emphasized that his teammates should approach national team duties with greater dedication, recognizing the honor of playing for Nigeria.
The Bayer Leverkusen player highlighted that countless footballers back home aspire to wear the national jersey and seize such an opportunity.
Boniface shared during The Culture League podcast, “Some of my teammates approach national team games casually, acting as though winning or losing doesn’t matter.
“I constantly remind them that Nigeria has millions of football talents—our population in Africa is the highest.”
Boniface had hoped for a transfer to Saudi Arabia this summer, but reports indicate the deal fell through.
The 24-year-old will stay with the Bundesliga champions, having played a key role in their 2023-24 title-winning campaign.
