Nollywood star Beverly Osu has opened up about the emotional toll her performance in Netflix’s critically acclaimed movie Òlòtūré took on her mental health.

During a candid chat with BBC Pidgin, the actress disclosed that immersing herself in the dark storyline triggered a prolonged period of depression.

Osu explained how deeply she connects with her roles, stating: “As a method actor, I don’t just play characters—I live them. The process of shedding a role can be devastatingly hard.”

“After wrapping Òlòtūré, I spiraled into a three-month identity crisis. It felt like I had to rebuild Beverly piece by piece because the character had consumed me so completely,” she confessed.
