Teddy A

Reality TV star Tope Adenibuyan, widely recognized as Teddy A, opened up about how false allegations regarding his personal life have left a significant emotional toll on him.

One particularly damaging claim suggested that he abused his wife, actress Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi. He addressed these rumors during a heartfelt conversation on the *WithChude Podcast*, aired on February 7, 2026.

The artist described the abuse accusation as the most hurtful story ever circulated about him. He recalled the unsettling moment he discovered the report—while his pregnant wife was at home, completely at ease, watching a movie.

The tranquility of the day was disrupted when his phone began buzzing with unusual notifications. Puzzled, he checked his social media accounts, only to find strangers discussing a fabricated story of him physically harming his wife, including while she was pregnant.

The couple was stunned by the allegation. Bambam, in particular, was visibly distraught, repeatedly questioning the origin of such damaging claims. Teddy A admitted that despite his efforts, he couldn’t trace where the rumor began.

Unsure of how to respond, he consulted his manager, who advised ignoring the speculation to prevent fueling further controversy. Initially, he followed this guidance, opting for silence—but later realized the cost of that decision.

Even after the news faded, the allegation continued to haunt him. Online discussions resurfaced the false narrative repeatedly, often under unrelated posts. Followers would still question his character, asking if he had truly stopped abusing his wife, despite Bambam publicly dismissing the claims.

This persistent rumor, Teddy A explained, distorted people’s perception of him, creating a false image of his marriage that lingered far longer than he anticipated.

In his words: “The rumor that I was beating my wife hit hard. That day, my wife was home, relaxed and smiling—very much pregnant. Then my phone exploded with notifications. At first, I didn’t understand why—I hadn’t posted anything online! But then I saw the comments, and my wife broke down, asking who would spread such lies. I was clueless—was it an ex? Some random gossip blogger? I reached out to my manager, who told me not to engage. At the time, silence seemed best, but in hindsight, it allowed the lie to stick. Even now, when Bam and I share happy moments, people still ask, ‘Are you sure he doesn’t hit you?’ It’s frustrating, and it shaped how people saw me—an image I never wanted.”
