Saskay Shares Struggles with Transition from Nigerian to European Education System

Former BBNaija star Saskay, born Tsakute Ladi Jonah, recently took to social media to discuss the stark contrast between Nigerian and European academic expectations.

In a candid reflection on her 𝕏 platform, she revealed how her Nigerian education prioritized rote memorization for exams, while her current European curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and real-world application of knowledge.

The reality TV alumna described facing significant challenges adapting to this unfamiliar learning approach. “Back home, success meant perfectly reciting classroom material during assessments,” she explained. “Here, they push you to synthesize information from multiple sources and demonstrate practical understanding.”

Saskay acknowledged the growing pains of this educational transition: “It’s been challenging because this deeper learning method is completely new to me. But I’m determined to master it.”

Recently enrolling in the Brussels School of Governance’s Global Security and Strategy Master’s program, the media personality shared her hard-won journey to this milestone. After five years of perseverance through setbacks and uncertainties, she nearly compromised on an alternative program before securing her current placement.

Her educational pursuit in Belgium marks both a personal triumph and an ongoing adaptation process as she navigates these different pedagogical philosophies.
