Former “Big Brother Naija” contestant Queen Mercy Atang has taken a stand against an ex-boyfriend who attempted to rekindle their connection on Valentine’s Day, exposing the personal turmoil he allegedly caused her in the past.

The media personality, who recently confirmed the dissolution of her marriage to entrepreneur David Oyekanmi, shared damning evidence of the ex’s unwelcome contact alongside her sharp rebuttal.

Atang accused her former flame of orchestrating a destructive smear campaign during what should have been one of the happiest periods of her life – her 2024 wedding celebration period.

“When I was planning my wedding earlier this year,” Atang revealed, “this same person mobilized people to spread vicious lies about me across every major platform – from WhatsApp groups to Instagram stories.”

Rather than engaging in public mudslinging, the television personality took the high road at the time, privately contacting mutual acquaintances about the harassment while relying on faith to see her through the painful episode.

The reality star expressed gratitude toward friends who defended her online reputation when she was too emotionally drained to properly counter the attacks herself.

“Now he thinks because my marriage didn’t work out, I’d come running back?” Atang questioned pointedly in her social media post. “That chapter closed permanently in 2013 – the university days are ancient history.”

She emphasized her current disinterest in romance, declaring her focus is now on personal growth and career ambitions rather than past relationships.

Atang included screenshots documenting the inappropriate Valentine’s outreach as proof of her claims:
