Reality stars Leo DaSilva and Nina have criticized the skyrocketing costs of short-let apartments in Lagos this December, labeling the pricing as outrageous.
Sharing screenshots of rental listings in Victoria Island and Ikoyi, Leo accused hosts of taking advantage of the festive season demand.
He argued that while short-let owners assume December is a peak period for bookings, many travellers will likely opt for hotels—forcing rental prices to drop.
“It’s both shocking and amusing to see the rates for VI and Ikoyi apartments this December,” he said.
“Charging $9,350 for barely two weeks in an average apartment is wild. Hotels will steal the show, and landlords will have to lower prices.”
His screenshot revealed a listing priced at ₦14 million for just 11 nights, with no upfront payment required.
Nina joined the outcry, slamming hosts for what she called “daylight robbery,” sharing that she paid ₦4.2 million for a two-week stay in Lekki.
She added: “Who in their right mind charges ₦700k per night? That’s absolute madness!”
The duo believes this pricing surge is unsustainable and predicts a significant drop as travellers reject the inflated rates.
