Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate Pere Egbi has shed light on the devastating impact of online harassment.
He revealed that a close friend recently took their own life after enduring relentless cyberbullying.
The actor shared the heartbreaking news on his X platform on Monday but did not confirm whether the tragedy occurred in Nigeria or the U.S., where he currently resides.
“Lost a dear friend today to cyberbullying. Ended their life. Shaking my head. Rest in peace, legend. Stay strong,” his post read.
Pere previously stirred debate by suggesting that South Africa’s film industry surpasses Nollywood in cinematography, narrative depth, and professionalism.
He asserted that Nigerian filmmakers have much to gain by studying their South African peers.
With credits in both Nollywood and international productions like Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh, and Blood Vessel, Pere continues to make waves in the entertainment scene.
