Renowned Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has voiced his frustration over the skyrocketing prices of basic necessities in the country.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, he painted a vivid picture of the economic strain affecting everyday life.
He highlighted how street food now comes with fast-food prices, fast-food meals rival upscale restaurant costs, fine dining feels as expensive as monthly rent, and renting a home is almost as pricey as purchasing one outright.
His post read: “Street food costs what fast food used to. Fast food now matches fine dining rates. Fine dining feels like paying rent. And rent? It’s almost like buying a house outright.”
