
Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has opened up about her exhilarating transition into acting, starring alongside A-list actors Idris Elba, Viola Davis, and Cynthia Erivo in the highly anticipated film Children of Blood and Bone.
The rising Afrobeats artist shared her journey during a candid chat on CBS Morning.
Starr confessed she had always envisioned herself on the big screen but struggled with self-doubt before taking the leap.
“Acting was this huge mountain in my mind—I loved it but never felt ready,” she revealed. “But here I was, lights rolling, no microphone in hand—just pure emotion. It was surreal.”
“The set was like a university,” she continued. “From seasoned legends to teen actors, everyone schooled me in ways I never expected. Their passion was contagious!”
The singer-turned-actress gushed about her co-stars’ professionalism, calling their collaborative energy “a seismic shift in how I approach my craft—both on stage and on screen.”
