Nigerian music star Ayra Starr continues to make waves globally as her smash single “Bloody Samaritan” secures a prestigious silver certification in the UK, marking another triumph in her meteoric rise.
The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) officially acknowledged the track’s commercial success, cementing its status as a fan favorite since its 2021 release on her critically acclaimed debut album, 19 & Dangerous, under the Mavin Records label.
This achievement places Ayra Starr among an elite group of Nigerian musicians who have received UK silver certifications, including Afrobeats heavyweights like Burna Boy for African Giant, Twice As Tall, and Love, Damini, as well as Asake for his chart-dominating album Work of Art and the viral anthem “Lonely At The Top.”
The list of Nigerian artists with UK-certified hits extends to Wizkid’s Made in Lagos, Davido’s Timeless, Tems’ Born in the Wild, Omah Lay’s Boy Alone, Rema’s Rave & Roses, and CKay’s breakout sensation “Love Nwantiti.”
