Authorities from the Nigeria Police Force have refuted claims of issuing an arrest warrant for renowned Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo.

The clarification follows viral online reports suggesting the actress was being sought by law enforcement.

A widely shared social media post, alleging Ojo was wanted by the Inspector General of Police’s monitoring team, was dismissed by officials as “fabricated, deceptive, and not authorized by the Force.”

Via their verified Facebook handle, the NPF confirmed the circulated notice was unverified and absent from all official police platforms.

“FALSE ALERT! The ‘WANTED’ bulletin involving actress Iyabo Ojo is NOT from the Nigeria Police Force. It’s entirely fraudulent and has no association with our official channels. Ignore and refrain from circulating misinformation,” the statement declared.

The police reiterated the necessity of cross-checking news solely through authorized NPF sources to prevent the spread of misleading claims.

“Always rely on verified NPF platforms for accurate updates,” the communication added.
