Nigerian music sensation Asake has broken his silence after the tragic passing of Karen Lojore, a young woman who lost her life during a chaotic stampede at his concert in Nairobi, Kenya.
Outraged Kenyans flooded social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), condemning the event’s poor organization. Many pointed to the single-entry system as the primary cause of the overcrowding that led to the fatal incident.
In an emotional Instagram Story post, Asake expressed: “I’m heartbroken by the devastating events that unfolded during our December 20th show in Nairobi.
“Karen Lojore’s family and friends have my deepest sympathies. I’m committed to assisting however possible and ensuring a thorough investigation into this tragedy.
“Accountability must prevail for those at fault.
“My music aims to spread happiness, making this loss especially painful. My prayers are with all who mourn Karen’s passing.
“May her soul find eternal peace.
“Kenya remains in my thoughts.”
