Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Asake graced the Major League Soccer (MLS) event in New York with a special cameo appearance.
The artist was given the honor of performing the ceremonial coin toss during the match between New York Red Bulls and Columbus.
On Sunday, Asake posted pictures and clips from the event on Instagram, showing him posing with players and officials before the game began.
“gives you wings,” he wrote in the post’s caption.
This appearance underscores Asake’s growing international appeal as he ventures beyond his musical roots.

This year, the Afrobeats star secured a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance but lost to Tems.
In February, he debuted his first single, Why Love, under his new label Giran Republic, signaling a new phase in his career following his departure from Olamide’s YBNL Nation.
