British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua has safely returned to the UK after surviving a devastating car collision in Nigeria that tragically took the lives of two members of his coaching team.
The accident occurred last Monday when the vehicle transporting Joshua collided with a parked truck on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Among the victims were his longtime personal trainer, Kevin Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, both of whom succumbed to their injuries at the crash site.
Joshua, who sustained only minor wounds, received immediate medical care at a Lagos hospital before being released on December 31.
Memorial services for Ghami and Ayodele will take place this Sunday at a prominent mosque in London, where family, friends, and fans will pay their respects.
Authorities have identified the driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, as facing charges for reckless driving resulting in fatalities and operating without a valid license.
