Angela Okorie

Nollywood star Angela Okorie has publicly apologized to fellow actress Mercy Johnson Okojie following her recent legal troubles.

The drama unfolded when police arrested Okorie at her Lagos home on January 27, 2026, amid allegations of cyberbullying Johnson through social media posts.

After spending two days in custody, an Abuja court remanded the actress in Suleja Prison before eventually granting her bail on January 30.

Justice Emeka Nwite approved Okorie’s release on a ₦5 million bail bond, requiring one surety of equal value, following arguments presented by her legal counsel Earnest Nwoye.

In an emotional Instagram video that quickly went viral, Okorie directly addressed her colleague, saying: “Mercy, your children, and your entire family, this message is for you. I acknowledge my imperfections and sincerely apologize for any hurt my words may have caused when your name appeared online.”

“You’re not what some have labeled you—that’s completely untrue. As mothers, we must make peace because our children may cross paths in the future.”

“Bullying is never acceptable, and I regret any actions, whether intentional or not, that affected you. This marks a fresh start between us. From now on, I’ll disregard any negative talk about you because you’re my friend. May God continue to bless and elevate you.”
