Nollywood star Angela Okorie has addressed the social media uproar caused by her decision to destroy the attire she wore to the burial ceremony of renowned actor Alexx Ekubo, an act that divided opinions among fans.
Previously, Okorie shared on Instagram that she burned the outfit following guidance from a senior family member, sparking debates and criticism from followers who found the move controversial.
Setting the record straight, she emphasized her earlier remarks were misinterpreted and not meant to fuel online disputes.
She revealed that the clothing was given to a relative in Owerri for proper disposal and dismissed claims that it was taken to Lagos. Furthermore, she clarified that her initial post was targeted at a select few, not the broader audience.
Okorie also appealed to critics to be more considerate, highlighting that Ekubo’s loved ones remain in grief. She advised netizens to seek context before forming opinions on sensitive matters.
