Angel Smith isn’t holding back in dismantling misconceptions about her sexuality and relationships this week.
The ex-Big Brother Naija star, who recently tied the knot with her partner Tumininu in a U.S. ceremony, has fiercely rejected speculation that her past romance with fellow housemate Soma influenced her current same-sex relationship. Social media buzzed with theories suggesting heartbreak steered her toward women, but Angel unequivocally dismissed these claims.
She took to X with a powerful clarification: “Seeing people struggle to comprehend that a pansexual woman can love both men and women is baffling,” her post igniting heated discussions across platforms.

She followed up with an even bolder statement: “My queer identity existed long before BBNaija or any man. Never credit my authenticity to male influence—they couldn’t handle this level of greatness, period.”
Supporting her stance, Angel resurfaced tweets from April 2021—predating her reality TV fame—where she proudly identified as pansexual. One viral post read, “Queer and unapologetic since day one,” while another cheekily challenged hypocrisy: “Nigerian men denounce homosexuality publicly but beg for FFM threesomes privately. The cognitive dissonance is wild.”
