Stan Nze has condemned in strong terms the brazen phone thefts that occurred at Alexx Ekubo’s tribute event, stating such behavior tarnishes the memory of the departed and shows utter disregard for grieving attendees.
In an emotional statement following the Lekki-based memorial, the actor revealed multiple devices were stolen during the service, using the incident to highlight deeper societal issues plaguing the nation.
“It’s unconscionable that someone would exploit a memorial service to commit theft. Over five phones were taken while we were honoring Alexx’s legacy,” Nze expressed with visible anger.
“We constantly blame leaders for our problems, but if we remove all officials, who replaces them? The same citizens who steal at funerals,” he added pointedly.
“Theft at a memorial service shows how low we’ve sunk as a society. Five phones stolen while paying respects to Alexx Ekubo?
We criticize leaders, but if we purge government, who fills those seats? The same people capable of this disrespect.” https://t.co/s59zj014gg pic.twitter.com/bInNxnkvvp— CHUKS 🍥 (@ChuksEricE) June 11, 2026
