Fulham’s Alex Iwobi has celebrated a significant milestone by making his 300th Premier League appearance.
The Nigerian international achieved this feat during Fulham’s narrow 2-1 loss to Newcastle United over the weekend.
At 29, Iwobi has become the first player from Nigeria to reach this landmark in the English top flight.
He now joins an elite group of African players with the most Premier League appearances, ranking fifth behind legends like Kolo Touré (353), Mohamed Salah (309), Wilfried Zaha (309), and Jordan Ayew (305).
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Iwobi expressed immense pride and determination to continue his journey.
“It’s an incredible feeling,” he remarked. “To stand alongside legends like Shola Ameobi and my uncle [Jay-Jay Okocha], who have also graced the Premier League, is truly special.”
“This is just the beginning. I’m committed to pushing forward and setting new records.”
