Renowned Nollywood icon Yemi Solade has publicly extended olive branches to colleague Afeez Abiodun (widely known as Afeez Owo), seeking reconciliation for a decades-old on-set conflict.
The veteran actor expressed remorse over a heated physical confrontation that erupted during filming over twenty years ago.
In a candid moment during his appearance on Behind the Fame African A-List, Solade vividly recalled the tense episode that unfolded while shooting in rural Oyo State, where Afeez served as production manager.
“To Afeez Abiodun, I owe this heartfelt apology. During that fateful shoot near Ibadan – the exact year escapes me – tempers flared when we faced unexpected power outages,” the seasoned actor confessed.
“Frustration took over when he dismissed my concerns. That regrettable slap happened spontaneously in the darkness. Looking back, I deeply regret that moment of weakness.”
Solade revealed how Afeez departed the location silently at dawn, leaving an unresolved tension that has lingered in his conscience through the years.
“My dear brother Afeez, please accept my sincere apology. Mabinu simi [forgive me]. Two decades have passed, yet this weighs on me. While I’ve shared my remorse with others before, now I address you directly. I’ve always detested disrespectful behavior, though that’s no excuse for my actions.”
