Kosoko admitted that although dancing to market films may seem unconventional, it has yielded impressive results for stars like Funke Akindele.

Nollywood legend Jide Kosoko has shared his perspective on actors using dance routines to boost their movie promotions, calling it an unorthodox yet impactful strategy.

The seasoned actor discussed the topic during a recent interview on TVC Breakfast Show, aired on Friday, March 20.

While Kosoko acknowledged that dancing isn’t the traditional method of film promotion, he recognized its effectiveness, particularly for industry heavyweights like Funke Akindele.

He pointed out that Akindele’s innovative approach has set a precedent, delivering measurable success.

“That method may not be ideal, but it works for her,” Kosoko remarked.

“There should be a more structured way to market our films. Having traveled extensively, I know actors abroad don’t dance to promote their work—it’s not the norm. However, our industry operates differently.”

Kosoko highlighted the importance of adapting to local dynamics while striving for success.

“Funke saw an opportunity to stand out, and she took it. It’s paying off—not just for her but for others who follow suit. Ultimately, what matters is achieving the desired results.”
