Ademola Lookman

Atletico Madrid’s Ademola Lookman etched his name into the history books during Wednesday’s thrilling UEFA Champions League clash against Club Brugge, delivering a standout performance in the 3-3 first-leg draw.

The Nigerian forward found the back of the net, becoming the first player since Héctor Herrera in 2019 to score on his Champions League debut for Atletico Madrid.

OptaJose revealed another milestone—Lookman is also the first starter to achieve this feat since Ángel Correa’s goal against Benfica in 2015.

Since his January transfer from Atalanta, Lookman has quickly adapted to Diego Simeone’s system, netting three crucial goals in his short stint with Los Colchoneros.

The former Everton and Leicester City attacker will look to maintain his scintillating form as Atletico prepares for their upcoming La Liga fixture against Espanyol.
