Nollywood icon Tonto Dikeh has declared that she will not be removing her tattoos, despite having fully recommitted her life to Christianity.
Since finding her way back to the church, Tonto has been transparent about her walk with God, frequently sharing footage of her prayers and speaking in tongues to highlight the profound shifts in her lifestyle.
During a recent chat with a follower on social media, she was quizzed on whether she planned to erase her ink now that her faith has been renewed.
Tonto clarified that while she had previously considered getting them removed, she has chosen not to put her skin at risk by undergoing laser removal treatments.
She further noted that her spiritual convictions do not dictate that she must scrub the tattoos off, asserting that the ink on her body has no bearing on her relationship with the Lord.
“Mama, if erasing tattoos was an option, would you have removed yours?” the fan asked.
“Yes, darling, I definitely would have, but I am stuck with them now, and I’m not risking laser surgery to ruin my beautiful skin. Plus, the best part is that Jesus doesn’t mind.” she responded.
The single mother also recently revealed her plans to be far more discerning regarding the individuals and companies she partners with this year.
She emphasized that respect is non-negotiable, stating that she will neither promote nor back anyone who demonstrates animosity or disrespect toward her, her beliefs, or her spiritual mentors.
Dikeh added that she intends to stay away from any projects or joint ventures that fail to acknowledge her value or safeguard her creative output.
