The revelation came during her recent guest appearance on Oyinmomo TV.
Opeyemi Aiyeola, absent from Nollywood for over a decade, made the life-changing move to America post-marriage to Olayiwola Abdulwakilu.
Clarifying her long hiatus, the actress emphasized her dedication to family time and confessed she severed all industry connections to safeguard her marriage from potential breakdowns.
The mother of two shared: “I vanished from the scene for over ten years, and I owe my fans an apology. My marriage was sacred to me, so I blocked every industry contact.”
“We should value our partners—they contributed to this choice. People often claim entertainers can’t maintain stable homes, but they don’t see behind closed doors. Determined to chart a different course, I distanced myself from everyone in Nollywood for a full decade.
“When I finally resumed my career, I reconnected with everyone. After dedicating myself entirely to raising my two sons, it’s time they support me in rebuilding my professional journey,” she concluded.
