Nollywood star Laide Bakare has dismissed rumors suggesting she taunted fellow actress Biola Bayo following her marital split.
The misunderstanding arose after Bakare posted a celebratory dance video on Instagram, accompanied by a caption that some fans linked to Bayo’s breakup.
Her post read: “All of us will eat breakfast. Asiko lo ma ya to. Good morning people,”—a phrase often associated with overcoming hardships.
With Biola Bayo’s divorce news still fresh, social media users quickly assumed the post was a sly dig, leading to backlash.
However, Bakare swiftly addressed the accusations, emphasizing her unwavering support for Bayo in a follow-up video.
“Keyboard warriors and gossip peddlers, you’ve got it all wrong,” she stated. “Let’s be mindful of our words. It’s still June 5th here in California, and I would never disrespect my sister Biola Bayo. My prayers are with her. I was completely occupied with my daughter’s graduation and missed the updates. Trolls thrive on negativity.”
This comes after Biola Bayo publicly confirmed her separation from husband Oluseyi earlier this week.
