Renowned Nollywood icon Joke Silva has opened up about the unexpected perks of being in a relationship with an older partner.
The celebrated actress shared insights into her decades-long marriage during an engaging interview on TVC’s talk show ‘Your View’.
Silva, now 64, tied the knot with legendary actor Olu Jacobs in 1985, despite their 20-year age gap.
Reflecting on their love story, she revealed: “We first crossed paths on stage, and later reunited on a movie set. While everyone recognized the legendary Olu Jacobs, I was completely unaware of his fame at the time. Our connection grew naturally, and his age only became apparent after we started dating – he maintained such youthful energy.”
“Though he claims it was love at first sight for him, my feelings developed gradually. One advantage of older partners? They bring remarkable patience and understanding to a relationship,” she added with a smile.
The celebrated couple, who married when Jacobs was 44 and Silva was 24, have built a lasting legacy together and raised two children.
