Nollywood star Bimbo Ademoye has escalated her fight against copyright infringement, vowing to pursue legal measures after alleging her creative work was unlawfully claimed by another party.
In a recent Instagram update, Ademoye revealed she temporarily removed prior posts on the issue following guidance from her team. The dispute arose when monetization for her film ‘Where Love Lives’ was abruptly disabled due to an unauthorized copyright claim.
The actress asserted that a track featured in the movie—fully licensed and approved by the original artist—was wrongfully seized by an individual named Emmanuel Davies. She accused him of filing fraudulent copyright claims, diverting revenue from her project to himself.
Ademoye emphasized her commitment to ethical filmmaking, stating she meticulously secures rights for all music in her productions. Expressing frustration over the alleged theft, she questioned how someone could brazenly claim ownership of her intellectual property.
She confirmed that authorities have been notified and urged the public to assist by sharing any information about Davies via email. “I won’t rest until justice is served,” she declared.
Additionally, Ademoye referenced a prior copyright clash involving her film ‘To Be a Friend,’ where she rejected an out-of-court settlement. The incident reportedly cost her a project with over six million views, reinforcing her resolve to pursue legal resolution this time.
