Popular Nollywood star Ibrahim Chatta recently opened up about the devastating loss of his firstborn child in a heartbreaking Lagos hospital tragedy.

The acclaimed actor disclosed that financial struggles prevented him from saving his child’s life, leaving him forever haunted by the painful memory.

He shared this emotional story during an impromptu discussion with crew members while filming on set.

Chatta recounted his desperate efforts to gather funds after his baby was rushed to a hospital in Lagos’ Iddo district—efforts that ultimately failed.

With deep sorrow, he revealed that his child’s remains were laid to rest in a makeshift Coca-Cola wooden crate—a stark symbol of his hardship at the time.

The candid conversation was later posted on YouTube by Abiola Orisile Events & Parties.

“Many don’t know Malik isn’t my first child,” Chatta confessed. “I had a baby girl who passed away because I couldn’t cover her medical expenses.

“She was admitted to a hospital in Iddo—I walked for miles, pleading for help, but by the time I returned, she was gone. My precious child was buried in an empty Coke crate.”
