Kiekie

Nigerian actress, media personality, and fashion mogul Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has opened up about a transformative spiritual journey that propelled her career forward.

During a candid conversation on the Off The Top podcast, Kiekie revealed a pivotal moment in 2018 when her fashion business hit a roadblock despite her parents’ unwavering encouragement.

“I shut myself away for days,” she confessed. “No meals, no showers, no fresh clothes. I was curled up on the floor, weeping. I begged God, ‘Change my story.’”

In her self-imposed isolation, she cut off all contact, even misleading friends into believing she was abroad. Clad in a simple pink boubou, she devoted endless hours to prayer, finding solace only in the stillness of her room.

Kiekie’s turning point arrived unexpectedly when, after days of devotion, a client reached out requesting her designs.

“I hadn’t even washed up. I just freshened my mouth and rushed to Ikeja. That was the spark,” she shared.

Looking back, she described the subsequent years as “nothing short of miraculous,” crediting that divine encounter for her ongoing success.

“From 2018 till today, it’s been incredible—absolutely incredible,” she reflected with heartfelt appreciation.
