2Face Idibia

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2Face, has been named the National Fire Safety Ambassador by the Federal Government.

In this new role, the celebrated artist will spearhead nationwide campaigns to promote fire safety awareness and encourage preventive measures among citizens.

The announcement was made by the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi, during the closing event of the 2025 National Fire Safety Week at the agency’s headquarters.

This year’s Fire Safety Week emphasized the importance of proactive fire prevention, urging Nigerians to move beyond complacency and take personal responsibility for safety.

Adeyemi highlighted that the week-long initiative kicked off with a virtual town hall meeting and included the distribution of insurance benefits to families of fire officers who lost their lives or sustained injuries in the line of duty.

Participants were also engaged through training sessions, competitive events, and public demonstrations aimed at equipping communities with lifesaving fire safety techniques.

Throughout the week, fire service personnel conducted outreach programs in schools and marketplaces while showcasing emergency response drills to enhance public awareness.

The Controller General lauded the enthusiastic nationwide participation, noting a significant shift toward embracing fire prevention measures.

At the closing ceremony, certificates and awards were presented to individuals and organizations that demonstrated outstanding dedication to fire safety advocacy.

“I commend all participants for their contributions and encourage them to champion these safety principles wherever they go,” Adeyemi said.

“We look forward to 2Baba leveraging his influence to inspire a nationwide safety revolution,” he added.
