Afrobeats icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has spoken out after his wife, Natasha, reportedly received alarming death threats amid their highly publicized domestic dispute.

The controversy intensified after 2Baba’s relatives filed an official complaint with Nigeria’s police chief, accusing Natasha of assault and unauthorized access to the singer’s finances.

A formal letter dated November 12 revealed the family’s request for a police probe, citing alleged assaults in London and Abuja, unauthorized fund transfers from 2Baba’s accounts, and the withholding of his passport—claims Natasha denies.

Breaking his silence, 2Baba took to social media with an emotional plea, defending his wife while criticizing his family for allegedly destroying his relationships.

In a candid video, the veteran musician expressed frustration over the personal attacks, emphasizing his right to privacy in marital matters. He stated that while conflicts occur in every marriage, the situation had spiraled out of control.

The music star revealed parallels between the current ordeal and past issues with his estranged wife, Annie, accusing his family of a recurring pattern of interference.

His powerful statement included: “Natasha is facing threats because of this mess. I refuse to stay silent—I’m an adult capable of making my own choices. Instead of helping, my family has ruined my relationships.”

“Every couple has disagreements, but now it’s turned ugly. Despite the chaos, I’m fine. They did the same thing during my marriage with Annie.”
