A rising Nigerian music star, Destiny, aged just 19, has tragically lost his life after a brutal assault in Ghana’s Volta Region.
Reports from PUNCH Metro indicate the shocking incident occurred on May 28.
Sources reveal that an unidentified Nigerian expatriate in Ghana allegedly accused Destiny of mishandling funds from a joint business arrangement.
The accuser, who reportedly helped facilitate Destiny’s relocation to Ghana, allegedly stormed his residence with two accomplices to confront him about the missing money.
When Destiny couldn’t provide satisfactory answers, the situation escalated into a violent attack that proved fatal.
An anonymous source close to the matter told PUNCH Metro that the Edo-born artist succumbed to his injuries following the assault.
“Destiny had traveled to Ghana to pursue his education, with assistance from someone he considered a mentor. These same individuals provided his accommodation. According to witnesses, they accused him of diverting business funds, leading to a violent confrontation at his apartment. The beating was so severe it ultimately claimed his life,” the source explained.
Authorities believe the assailants fled the scene after realizing Destiny had died, leaving his body behind.
Another informant shared with our correspondent that police discovered the remains several days later.
“After receiving an alert, Ghanaian police officers located Destiny’s body in his apartment. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with his death. We’re counting on Ghanaian law enforcement to ensure justice is served,” the source added.
PUNCH Metro obtained a poignant video where Destiny shared his aspirations and dreams.
In the footage, he enthusiastically stated, “I’m Destiny, a Nigerian streamer with big ambitions. My goal is to enroll at Streamers University – this achievement would mean everything to me, my mother, and everyone who believes in me. I’m also an artist and passionate gamer with diverse talents.”
This tragic incident follows PUNCH Metro’s April report about another Nigerian national, 77-year-old Uber driver Olatunji Bolaji, who was fatally shot outside a Philadelphia hookah lounge.
Bolaji, a Norristown resident, was on duty in the early hours when he picked up a 22-year-old passenger near Rittenhouse Square. Police reports indicate another vehicle approached, with two men exiting and opening fire on both Bolaji and his passenger.
